Hi there
I'm sure I am a bit late coming to this forum but being from Australia, we are just starting on the third season now (no thanks to the network that is showing it who has done just about everything to discourage an audience except for coming around to your house personally and beating you up if they find out you are watching it)
I better fes up.....I am from Adelaide, Australia the birthplace of the most powerful media mogul in the world (you know, Rupert). I'm sooooo ashamed.
Anyway, I hope you like this little description of the inner workings of fox. (makes me want to keep all my anguish to myself.....clutching my butt cheeks as I type). Sorry if you've seen it before, I'm new......
Anguish
Perhaps the most nefarious department in the sinister Fox empire, Anguish
specializes in nuturing brilliant, wonderful television shows. It shepherds
these shows through the long and difficult process of development, keeping
their quirky spirit intact. It then brings these shows to air just long enough to develop a small but devoted audience, then mercilessly cancels them. The resulting outcry of rage and despair from the show's viewers is then harvested by specially trained druids, and mystically transferred to Rupert Murdoch, further increasing his dark powers. [ha!]
Strangely enough, though the Anguish division's workings are well-documented,
audiences keep falling for them all the same. Victims of the Anguish department include Firefly, Futurama, and most recently, Arrested Development.

Re: Anguish
Wed, May 17, 2006 - 10:02 AMYep, I have been known to fall prey to new shows that get cancelled.
This year I hope to boycott all new shows, no matter what the buzz.
Not that I matter, but if we could all do this maybe, just maybe, we could make a difference!
(I hadn't seen the "Anguish" description before)

Re: Anguish
Wed, May 17, 2006 - 4:19 PMLord J, I am a wildlife carer and therefore have lots of native wildlife coming and going (mostly birds...especially pigeons, lots and lots of pigeons). Basil came to us (my daughter and I) as a 'pinky' (no fur - 400grams). He stayed with me for about 2 years and then we moved him on to another home a bit more rural where he could be with a new friend in a large compound but still have access to the house, which he likes (and the treats - potato chips being his favourite). Thanks for asking -

Wed, May 17, 2006 - 4:27 PMAwesome... did you really send him to a rural home or is that just what you told your daughter? My mom sent our dog to live on a farm... turns out she just lied. :(
Do you know Steve Irwin? -

Yes, little Basil is living happily with his girlfriend Chloe, on the farm (although I hear she sometimes beats up on him).
No, don't know Steve Irwin. He's considered to be a bit of national joke actually. At least amongst my friends...but then again, we can be really mean sometimes :-) -

Thu, May 18, 2006 - 3:31 PMyeh, they were always roaming the house together looking for food. Very competitive too. The dog even once ate a whole huge bag of wheat grass just so the kangaroo wouldn't get it!
